Term 4 Recap & 2020!!

Term 4 has come to an end, and so has 2019! We have had a huge year in 2019, and are immensely thankful to everyone who has continued to support us with all the changes that have come to our club this year. Lets recap some of the awesome achievements of our club and students this year!

Holiday Timetable

We will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from the 21st of December 2019, until the 14th of January 2020. For the first two weeks of this term, we will be running a slightly different timetable for the School Holidays. Maybe you have a friend who you've always wanted to train with? Bring them along during this time to join in the fun, at no extra charge.

Our regular timetable will resume from the start of Term 1, on January 28th, 2020.

Term 1 2020 News!

Ginger Ninja Trickster Seminar

Some of our members will be attending the Ginger Ninja Trickster Seminar on January 13, 2020! The seminar will be focused on advanced kicking and tricking techniques. Recently a second date has become available on January 12th, so if you are interested please check the event details on our Facebook page.

Western Sydney Taekwondo Championships

Our friends from Red Dragon Taekwondo will be hosting the Western Sydney Taekwondo Championships on the 22nd of March 2020. Our students have entered this tournament many times in the past, with the tournament catering to beginners right through to advanced competitors. We encourage our students to give it a try! All belt levels and ages are welcome. To enter, you must be attending our Tournament classes on Saturday mornings to learn the rules, and practice with the equipment worn during a tournament.

The 2nd Australian Taekwondo Masters Championship

Another tournament we can enter next March is The 2nd Australian Taekwondo Masters Championship being held on the 8th of March 2020. Please let us know if you are interested in competing in this tournament as well.

Term 4 Recap!

Grading

We held a huge grading this term! We were beyond impressed with our students performance on the day, and especially everyone's positive attitudes. Our grading this term also featured our annual Black Belt grading. Our black belts (and one high red belt) were put through their paces in an hour long grading, demonstrating their fitness, advanced kicks, poomsae, sparring, demonstrations, and board breaks.

Congratulations to the following students who graded! Declan R., Jake B., Peter E., Ella C., Luka C., Elliot S., Emily B., Matthew E., Natasha T., Samuel T., Atilla Y., Jeremy W., Owen E., Melissa F., Zac S., Ace W., Leonardo W., Amy L., Estelle L., Hudson A., Jackson K., Michael M., Ruby D., Oliver K., Oliver V., Ethan T.

Hyper Martial Arts Day

On the 16th of November we attended the Hyper Martial Arts Day! Members participated in seminars on sparring, tricking, and weapons training. Records were also smashed in the kick challenge contest, and some participants entering for the first time now have a benchmark to beat next year.

ASMA Spring Open

One of our keen students, Zac, entered the ASMA Spring Open on the 13th of October 2019. After two tough matches, he came away with 2nd place in his division! We are very proud of his achievement, and encourage other students to have a go at contests as well. As Zac will tell you, it is very fun and a great experience.

New Members

Welcome to all the new students who have joined us this term, we are super excited to see you grow into amazing martial artists!

2019 Recap!

New Dojang

In Term 2 we opened our dedicated Dojang! We were very busy during the first term and term 1 holidays preparing and setting up our facility. We are very proud of our Dojang, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Our new facility has given us the ability to provide even more classes for you, as well as better equipment to train with. We want to extend a massive thank you to all the parents and students who supported us during the change from our previous locations.

With our new Dojang, we also moved to teaching the Taegeuk forms, and made changes to how this was taught within our curriculum. These changes have been very successful, allowing more time in class to be dedicated on techniques and fitness of our students.

Tournaments

Our students had the opportunity to compete in three tournaments this year, with some excellent results. We are hoping to get even more students involved in tournaments in 2020, so please contact us more information on our Tournament Training classes!

- Red Dragon Beginners Tournament March 24 2019

-Red Dragon Beginners Tournament July 28 2019

-ASMA Spring Open October 13 2019

Camp

On April 14th this year we had the opportunity to attend a two day came hosted by our friends at Red Dragon Taekwondo. Our students had a lot of fun over the two days, and had the opportunity to train with students from various clubs and backgrounds.

Seminars

We are always looking to gain new knowledge and to grow our skills as martial artists, so we can pass on these skills to our students. This year we attended 3 seminars, with some of our students joining us for the last one. We will be attending more seminars and workshops in 2020, and as always our students are welcome to attend these alongside us!

- We attended two seminars hosted by James Sheedy Personal Defence Studio. We were able to train with two well renowned martial artists, Richard Norton, and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez.

- Some of our students joined us for the Hyper Martial Art Athlete Day, which you can see from above, was a lot of fun!

Demo

We were fortunate enough to put on two demonstration days at the Little Superstars Early Learning Centre. Some of our Little Tigers students will likely remember us attending. We played some of our fun games from our Little Tigers classes, and everyone had the chance to break a wooden board!

This year our students all worked together to put on a demonstration at the Warrimoo Springs Fair on the 2nd of November. Our students worked hard coming in on Saturdays for extra practice in the lead up to the demo. Everyone performed exceptionally well on the day, and even helped hand out brochures and hold boards for people to break.

We have had an amazing year, and are really looking forward to an even bigger and better 2020! We hope you have a safe and happy Holiday period!

If you do any training during our break, make sure to show us what you are up to!
